Police Reports - Brendaddy - 12-19-2020

I’ve heard some stores if you do a DNA you have to file a police report and I was wondering what would happen if you filed a police report saying your package was stolen

Hi OP, don't worry about sketching regarding a police report.

I'm sure @mothered will reply in here but as he taught me, PR (police report) is simply a part of protocol for many companies and regardless of it's outcome it should help your SE.

e.g. my latest refund: amazon wanted a police report.
Police replied on email saying they cannot help with a report since no item was stolen and once I showed that to amazon, it was sufficient to get my refund.

Okay, how did the police investigate like was it just questioning via email or did they actually come to your house. Also I wasn’t “sketching around it” was just a genuine question.

Sorry mate haven't been active whatsoever on here.

Not at all! Pretty much like a minor question via email and the PO asked, if I thought it had been stolen, because that would make it a crime and therefore investigatable.

I simply said no to this as it seemed a warehouse issue as I got my package but the item was missing, and they will simply tell you that since no crime has happened the police cannot help and they say its an issue between you and amazon.

I forwarded this to amazon and it was good enough to be valid as I had contacted the police but it was not my fault they weren't willing to help

Exactly this.

It's used for their Investigation, and Is nothing more than a bit of paperwork to move forward with the claim.
