Using Different Subnet Masks with IP Classes ? - Trik3r - 12-08-2020
Good Day Everyone!
So I know the basics of Subnetting pretty much that each Class have their own default Subnet Mask and Identifying the host Network etc, but I always wonder if there are any Advantages\Disadvantages of using different Subnet Masks with IP Classes. eg: Class A 10.0.0.1 using Subnet Masks 255.255.255.0 ?

IP subnetting has a few advantages, such as reducing congestion, and making network administration easier. However you will in practice loose some host IP addresses. In smaller networks this isnt an issue, but keep in mind you also need to consider how many hosts you want to have in a subnet. Too many, you waste IPs, too little and you run out of IPs in a subnet.
