Amazon investigation - throwaway998877 - 10-26-2020

Hey all, sorry if this sounds silly but I'm just a little worried.
I bought a i7 9700k and also a bag of beads (they weighed 1 pound, whereas the i7 weighed 46g). I talked to the rep saying that the processor wasn't in the package, but with what he said it sounded like he misunderstood me. It was £280 so not a surprise there needs to be an investigation, however I don't want it to fail just because of some miscommunication. In the event that the rep DID say that the beads and the processor weren't in the package, and the claim is denied, what should I do? I'll make sure to update as soon as I get a response. Thanks

What did he say?

Given you're using the missing Item method, If they "weren't In the package", your claim will be approved.

He said something along the lines of 'since the items weren't in the package I have opened an investigation'. But I talked with another rep and she confirmed that they only opened the investigation for the processor. Now we just have to wait lol

The response Is typical of their standard procedure with opening an Investigation.

As you've said, simply wait for their reply.

Well, just got the unfortunate email from Amazon saying 'we've recieved a high amount of refund requests blah blah blah'. Kinda sucks as I made sure to order like 10 things before I did this SE. Tongue
I really do need this refund, as I can't afford to not get it. What do you think I should do from here? I might wait one more day and see if I do get a reply from Amazon. In the event that I don't get an email, I might go through chat again and act confused and frustrated.

You account's standing Is first and foremost to help ensure a favorable outcome.

When all else fails, you can hit a PayPal dispute/claim and If that doesn't go according to plan, perform a chargeback via your credit card provider or a bank reversal through your merchant.

Got an email saying I needed a police report for it to progress, which is kinda stupid but I talked to a rep again and he was adamant on a police report. I'm saving a chargeback for something bigger, and I can't do PayPal as I didn't pay through it. So, I filed the police report, hopefully they'll just say it's out of their hands as nothing was stolen from me personally. I'll keep you updated. Smile

If you don't think this Is worthy of a chargeback, then you've made the right decision to save It for a high value Item.

You're hitting the missing Item/partial method due to a warehouse picking & packing error, so I don't see why they've requested a police report. Anyway, we'll await their response.

Exactly what I was thinking, I had an argument with the rep (well a polite argument Smile ) but they insisted on one. I hope this works, if all else fails I can sell the processor near RRP. May I PM you about something?

It doesn't make any sense and moreover, a police report cannot support the claim under the circumstances, so It's a waste of time.

But, as you've done, compliance Is Imperative for the claim to move forward.
