Planning ahead for Christmas SE - Pumic - 10-23-2020

I currently have a pretty good standing account with Amazon (a couple successful SEs, along with several legitimate purchases), and I'd like to SE a large value laptop for Christmas.

The laptop is 14.17" W x 10.15" L x 0.79" H and weighs 5.12lbs (excluding the packaging weight). It's priced just above $1500.

As of right now, the basis of my plan is to be around when it arrives and fake a signature (I'm certain they'll require a signature for sure a high valued item) then wait a day or two and claim I never received it.

If anyone has any completed SEs of this nature, I'd greatly appreciate your experience and advice!

As you're aware, do expect an Investigation and quite a lengthy claims process.

What carrier will be used?

UPS has always been the carrier for me when I order through Amazon. I don't expect it to be different this time

Will you be using the "sign now" option on their website, or simply wait for the delivery to see whether a signature will be requested?

I know that 6 months ago, UPS were not accepting signatures due to the COVID-19 situation. I'm not sure whether It's changed as of late.

I never knew that UPS weren't accepting signatures, so I need to check on whether or not they are currently. If so, I'll be waiting to see if a signature is requested because I assume using the "sign now" option would tell them I acknowledge that I have received the package.

Yes It was the case back then, however given COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted In various locations, their policies have changed.

Correct.

That acknowledges that you've signed the scheduled delivery.

if in the US some States have restrictions back up, and I always see UPS pass thru my St. and just drop off packages, I order a lot myself and haven't signed a package since maybe May. BTW I did a laptop myself and it was successful. Same price range as yours. I used dna, and I "wasn't home" at the time of delivery. Should work even better now since porch pirates are out collecting xmas gifts for their families now.

For Informative purposes, who was the carrier?

I assume UPS?

Is UPS the carrier that did your laptop delivery? What kind of investigation followed your claim?
