UPS Authorize Shipment Release Option for amazon package - Beerad - 10-21-2020 In a previous post I mentioned that I am gonna SE amazon for a 1500$ pc and ofcourse it would require a signature. Looking on UPS website that has the tracking info, I noticed there is an option to “sign now” and when I click on it just out of curiosity the message states this “I authorize UPS to release packages addressed to my residence when no one is present to accept delivery. UPS will make only one delivery attempt and will not obtain a signature upon delivery. I understand that a UPS delivery record will be conclusive proof of delivery and I accept all responsibility for loss or damage after the package has been released at the address. I understand that UPS retains sole and unlimited discretion to honor my Authorized Shipment Release request for any package (and may not, for example, due to delivery conditions such as adverse weather or safety), and that Authorized Shipment Release is not available when a package requires an adult signature.” Has anyone tried to attempt a dna while approving this? I won’t be trying it with this item but maybe down the line with another. I personally believe this serves as proof you got it even tho you may not “physically have it”. My package is an order from amazon and usually they leave my package at my door but I’m assuming since this is a high price tag they will need a signature or else it’ll go to a ups drop off center which I would hate. What do you guys think about this and any tips of what my next move should be would be great. That said, If Amazon authorize the Shipper Release, then they're responsible and not the consignee/receiver- yourself. What's the Item you're planning to SE? I made another post about that earlier this week. Would you suggest I virtually sign before it gets here and claim dna when it’s left without a signature or just hope they leave it without a signature because sometimes UPS would leave packages that require a signature without signing, however this pc is shipping with the pc box visible which leads me to believe since they will see it’s a high price item they might push for signature. Worse case scenario they usually will send it to a ups drop off and that would eliminate dna which I don’t want. Any suggestions? Their delivery confirmation to the correct address, Is all they need to verify shipments. RE: UPS Authorize Shipment Release Option for amazon package - DirtyRock - 10-22-2020 don't use it. It relieves amazon of all liability and most likely you won't get a refund. Ok I won’t go that route, leaves me in a tough spot hopefully they leave it without a signature like they have with other normal orders in the past. I’ll write a note on my door stating that since COVID can you please leave packages at door, something along those lines in hopes they leave it haha RE: UPS Authorize Shipment Release Option for amazon package - mothered - 10-23-2020 (10-22-2020, 10:21 PM)Beerad Wrote: Ok I won’t go that route, leaves me in a tough spot hopefully they leave it without a signature like they have with other normal orders in the past.
