John Lewis Apple Watch Refund - Oneofmany - 10-08-2020

Hey everyone,

So I’m fairly new to the SE scene, I’ve SE’d a handful of times before but always with the DNA/INR methods.

This time I don’t want any carrier involvement at all (he is a family friend now lol) so I was going to go with the battery leaked and I had to dispose of it safely. If I’m asked for pictures I’ll insist that I’ve disposed of the item and thus I can’t provide any pictures.

How does this sound? Any suggestions from any of the more experienced people on here?

Hope it works.

There's a number of methods to choose from- the missing Item, wrong Item received and sealed box.

First and foremost, what's the weight of the watch?

Thanks for helping Mothered!

The wight of the entire package, according to Amazon, is 390 grams - the weight of just the watch is 47.1g. Ideally I’d like to keep the accessories and strap that come with it to, not sure if this will push it to above the limit of 120g for missing item.

Perfect for the missing Item method.

It will barely (If not at all) register a weight on consignment, so the shipment cannot be cross-checked with the carrier's manifest.

It'll be great If you can Identify the weight of the accessories.

If It's too heavy as a complete package and the cost of the watch significantly outweighs the accessories, pending availability, simply purchase them. You'll still be making a considerable profit.

Ah sounds perfect, thank you!

Having done a bit more research the strap would weigh around 90g, and the charger around 40g. Thinking about claiming missing item on the watch and charger and sending the box back at about 100g lower.

Sounds good.

Both the watch and charger weigh 90 grams (round figures), which Is within the capacity of the missing Item method.

What exactly did you say to them to get the refund.

I've known multiple people try it and john lewis refuse it on multiple occasions
