amazon phone swap refund, does it work? - koohiiwonomimasu69 - 09-23-2020

curious about doing a swap with amazon, saying the item was broken on delivery, swapping the actual broken item in, and keeping the amazon item in perfect condition for myself. do they check imei? will they block imei? what can go wrong in this instance?

Why not use the sealed box method?

If there's no signs of tampering/Inconsistencies whatsoever, It will not give them reason to check the return.

Sealed box is when you say you got an empty box with no product in it, right? How legitimate is that method when it comes to more expensive ($500+) items? Don't they also weigh the box to determine the item was in there?

No, that's the missing Item method.

In terms of the sealed box, you simply replace the original Item with anything that weighs the same and seal It as per the manufacturer's packing without any signs of tampering. As such, It gives them no reason to check, hence they'll place It back In their Inventory, and Issue a refund/replacement thereafter.

It's more so the carrier that's of concern.

If the IMEI Is placed In a pool of blacklisted numbers, then upon trying to activate It with a given carrier, It will be declined.
