IT work - Jusluvn - 09-11-2020

So I applied for this IT job at a well known company where I live (ive done it work many years ago when I was younger) I'm familiar with the work but my problem is I haven't it done it for a company in a long time, I also dont have a decent resume with good references. How would I go about making a decent resume with references out of nothing?

I assume you want to use fictitious contacts as references?

I was thinking about that. My last IT job was like 7 years ago. Should I just roll with the job gap and tell them or try and play it out

I've done this a number of times, and they didn't bother checking the timing. As long as the point of contact can be reached and Identified as relevant to your application, then you'll be fine.

Alternatively, you can use a legit company but provide your friend's landline number as a reference. I've also done this with success, however the background noise of the call, must be suited to the job's environment. For Instance, If It's at the office, you obviously can't have dogs barking or babies crying but rather keyboards tapping, workers talking and phones ringing. There's plenty of "office sounds" on YouTube.

Thank you for the input. Only reason I'm kind of iffy about it is its a really good job that I know id be great at, but like I said dont wanna explain certain things. I plan on just making a decent looking resume and putting people I know as references.

I think you're making a wise decision.

My previous post, Is more to the fact that a resume can be manipulated with Incredible ease.

Best of luck with your application! I assume you can submit a cover letter? I'd argue, that's where you want to make yourself stand out. That's exactly what they're for.
