Human stupidity knows no bounds.
During a gender reveal party (a party revealing an unborn child's gender, not a trans coming out party), a "pyrotechnic device" was used, causing a massive fire that has now spread to over 10,000 acres.

The El Dorado Fire in Southern California's San Bernardino County has scorched 10,574 acres and was 16% contained as of Tuesday, according to fire officials, who say it's "one of the most dangerous fires" they've seen in the area.
The fire was caused by a "smoke-generating pyrotechnic device" used at a party on Saturday morning in El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa, about 70 miles east of Los Angeles, Cal Fire investigators determined.
Evacuations have been ordered in the area as homes have been threatened. About 87 large wildfires are burning across the United States, with California hit hardest.
"In my 30 years as a citizen in Yucaipa, I have never seen such a large fire," Yucaipa Mayor David Avila said during a Monday news conference. "As a retired firefighter with 32 years of experience, I can assure you I witnessed one of the most dangerous fires that we can have in this area."
No injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged in the blaze, Cal Fire spokeswoman Cathey Mattingly said.Read More Here
This is not the first time this has happened. A blogger named Jenna Karvunidis, is well known for popularizing the gender reveal parties, has called on them to be stopped. She condemned these events saying the following "Stop having these stupid parties. For the love of God, stop burning things down to tell everyone about your kid's penis. No one cares but you,"

The current wildfire in California is massive, but it's just small potatoes compared to a 2017 reveal in Arizona that led to a wildfire spanning 47,000 acres. It all happened when members at the party shot a makeshift target scrawled with the words "Boy" and "Girl."Source

Stupidity knows no bounds. Devices like these should be used in flame retardant areas, with extinguishers on hand.

Perhaps the presence of a professional wouldn't go amiss either.
You would think that something like this is a big no no, in a location that is globally famous for being at risk to fires...

I'd argue that's a select few... My parents have never done anything that stupid. I'm not saying they haven't made bad decisions, but nothing that's led to massive fires or destruction. XD
