They can't sign the package with your name without your permit.

This is not entirely true - they apparently can. I'm not sure if it is completely allowed from their end alone, but I ordered something and it came to my office address and as usual, somebody has taken the package from the courier as it was paid but the courier didn't write the person's name in there but my name. Just a thing to keep in mind, couriers nowadays can do whatever they want I guess.

It's very common for carriers to sign and document your name on their hand-held device, particularly when they're running late for their delivery schedule/run. FedEx Is known for doing this, but not so often with DHL.

Perfect, simply DNA It.

100% true, I saw multiple times couriers doing things against the T&S of the company they work for.

But, legally speaking, they can't sign with my name unless they have my permit, at least it has never happened to me in my country.

Technically speaking it's a crime, falsification.

If the package would be real stolen (or you SE it) since they falsify my signature they will probably be involved too when and if the buyer report the case to the police, from the moment that the courier could have stolen it but signed as correctly delivered.

This ^

It's also against company protocol, but drivers continue to do It.
I experience It almost every day at work.
