Getting the shipping weight - mothereDD - 08-27-2020 I got a high end phone from Curys and found one significantly cheaper of similar weight which i also bought.. So i'm going with wrong item received method and switching these.. The problem is the cheap phone WITH the box actually came to like 380g and the expensive one is 500g. I'm pretty sure this will get picked up as its like 25% difference. Now i'm searching for the shipping weight of other potential phones and i can't see it anywhere.. where can this be found? Also should i just continue or does this stand no chance? RE: Getting the shipping weight - Green314 - 08-27-2020 The two items have to weight similar, otherwise, they might start to be suspicious about your claim. By the way, what a curious username.
RE: Getting the shipping weight - mothereDD - 08-27-2020 Someone should start a service where you can get similar shipping weights of items you might want to SE. For a fee or something. This is the biggest bottleneck finding the shipping weight. Yeh just 'avin a laugh lol Does anyone know a cheap item from curys with a 500gm shipping weight? This is the biggest bottleneck finding the shipping weight. Turns out sometimes they put product dimensions in terms of shipping weight and sometimes its just the phone weight.. Found one in Currys that has done that.. I think whoever scans this info in sometimes just weighs the box.. which helps RE: Getting the shipping weight - mothered - 08-27-2020 Quote:So i'm going with wrong item received method and switching these.. The wrong Item received, gives them reason to check the return. The sealed box doesn't- namely the "Item enclosed". But surely they will have another of said cheap phone to hand to weigh.. I mean they will surely weigh those in an investigation.. or do you think they will only weigh the one you sent back.. also what's to say they dont go through the contents and check.. and if they see the extra item in there they will probs call the police with good evidence against me lol RE: Getting the shipping weight - mothered - 08-27-2020 (08-27-2020, 11:25 AM)mothereDD Wrote: But surely they will have another of said cheap phone to hand to weigh.. The objective, Is to replace the original Item with anything of the same weight and seal It perfectly as per the manufacturer's packing without any signs of Inconsistencies whatsoever. As such, when you return It, they'll assume It hasn't been opened, then scan It and place It back In their Inventory. A refund/replacement will be Issued thereafter. Ok but have you personally been able to take the security seal sticker off and put it back again? because there is no other way to get in through the back or bottom of the box, its an expensive phone and has a good box. The cheaper one i can see there are sides where you could in theory take out. on the expensive one its completely dependant on that seal. As the top box then slides up like say an iphone box. Have you had success getting security sticker off if so can you elaborate what you used? Perhaps some kind of solvent to take the sticker off and then apply some kind of thin glue to get it back? Also what box u talking about cos the phone came in a bubblewrap envelope. Nothing else. So what weight would i need to make up? I'm trying to se the expensive phone thats heavier. Not sure what you mean RE: Getting the shipping weight - mothered - 08-27-2020 (08-27-2020, 03:40 PM)mothereDD Wrote: Also what box u talking about cos the phone came in a bubblewrap envelope. Not sure what you meanThe sealed box method, relates to any Item that's enclosed In Its packaging as per the manufacturer's state. It does not refer to specifics. It's pretty simple- you need to match the weight of the "Item".
