Argos Sealed Box - _mayur19 - 08-21-2020

Planning to do a 2.8k MacBook Pro sealed box method , and put in a Compac CQ58 which weighs 2.45kg , 450grams more than the MacBook Pro 2020 16inch model . Do you reckon it will work ? Or do they weigh they products even if they are sealed ?

It'll probably still get weighed, and 450 grams isn't a small amount for the product to differ by. Really depends how early on the shipping company will track the weight, because if it gets weighed as soon as it gets on the truck and stays 2.45kg the entire trip to Apple they'll likely know it came tampered with and it wasn't the shipping company. Ideally I'd find something closer in weight.

So I just placed an order for an iPad Pro 12.9inch model which weighs 643grams , and I’m planning to do the sealed box method tol with this and put in my IPad 4th gen which weighs 650grams. Do you reckon currys EBay will open the box even if it’s sealed ?

What exactly is the sealed box method? is it just opening to box carefullt and replacing the laptop with a different one and sealing it like it was never opened?

Not exactly. Melting shrink wrap around the box once it has been tampered with is common.

They won't open it until it arrives at the returns facility. All the carrier will be doing is weighing the box.

Will they open the box even though it looks like it hasn’t been opened at all ?

It's not the company that's of concern, but rather the carrier.

Weights & dimensions are taken of all packages at their depot to confirm delivery, as well as cost of freight.
