Battery Leaking Information - Tenney - 08-08-2020

Curious as to how well the battery leak / acid leak technique works? I have a general understanding of the concept - opened it and charging etc then boom battery leaks acid or smokes or catches on fire - threw it out - cant take pictures or Photoshop photos. How well can this really work with expensive products? Obviously formulating a great plan and a story featuring personal injury or injury to others in the family adds depth, but how well can / does this really work? Need all of your inputs and hypothetical experiences with it. Did you send pictures? PS? Corrupted? How long did a return / replacement take? Did you have to send anything in?

Pretty sure I read something about medical bills as proof so avoid that route, But I've really got no exp so I'll just let the experts speak.

It has been forever since I have tried this method but I believe it to be quite out-dated and well known to companies now. Most electronics are now SE'd through the use of boxing or FTID.

I feel as thought FTID or boxing a super expensive item would cause some sort of issues down the road in terms of recharging an account. Suggestions?

What Is a "super expensive Item?".

Please be precise with the Item you're planning to SE.

A £320 Nintendo switch , could the battery leak method work on curry’s ? If they asked for pictures I could say I threw it in the bin and show pictures of the empty box in the bin

It can work with just about any company, but It won't be a smooth and hassle-free process.

If that's the case and their reps are not half asleep, they'll ask you to take a photo of the Item Itself.

What's Its weight and dimensions?

It might work but showing empty box in the bin would likely not suffice. They may request for you to dig it out and photograph the actual product.
Fellow SEr in another thread mentioned that providing them with receipt for disposing of it properly worked for him.

If you have a good Amazon account you might find it easier to DNA from there. Currys will likely ship via DPD so DNA will not be possible from them.

Where did you see that about the receipt for disposing if it?

Can you expand on what you mean by disposing of receipt
