First Ever Refund On Amazon - Joeburd - 07-17-2020 Hey guys, I just recently made a fresh Amazon account (no orders) and ordered a CPU (ryzen 7 3800x) on amazon. The total was 317.99 and It should be coming this Sunday. As I said I don't really have any experience with refunds or SEing but I have read quite a few ebooks, threads, and many help requests which were solved on this forum and others. Right now I think the best thing to do is just say DNA because the CPU weighs 1.7lbs/0.784Kg which I think is too much for empty box. A little more context, I'm using a drop relatively close by (house for rent) and I dont really know if the order will require signature or not. I heard carriers were doing contact-less deliveries so i'm not sure. Anyways, I would really appreciate if you guys could help me out here, whether its that I should use a different method, like empty box or something else that'll make the refund go smoothly. Both methods should be able to get you a refund RE: First Ever Refund On Amazon - Joeburd - 07-18-2020 (07-18-2020, 01:54 AM)vroey Wrote:(07-17-2020, 11:04 PM)Joeburd Wrote: Hey guys, I just recently made a fresh Amazon account (no orders) and ordered a CPU (ryzen 7 3800x) on amazon. Both methods should be able to get you a refund Yeah I thought so but the only thing that worries me is that this is a fresh amazon account, ive heard people say stay under 300, others 500, and others even higher amounts (all of these for amazon.com) so I just don't know the amount I can confidently refund. Im trying to refund multiple pc parts and this is only one of them so if I got a bit of guidance on some fresh account limits I could decide whether or not to group certain parts together instead of doing each and every refund separately. There's a number of methods available- sealed box, wrong Item received or as you've stated, the DNA. I concur, your package is about 1kg... Stating an EB may be suspicious and make you SE fail. RE: First Ever Refund On Amazon - Fastera - 07-18-2020 I think you may find it more successful if you order a few small items, even if they are of $1 value. It rises less suspicion when doing SE as your orders have been going through without an issue. It also makes you look like a real customer who has started using Amazon recently. All small details add up to your chances of success. As for method EB would not work as weight is recorded and your item is too heavy to say that it did not arrive. There is the possibility to say that the actual CPU was not in its cradle. This implies an error by the manufacturer and not Amazon however if you can see the CPU from outside the box (I am not familiar with the packaging of your chosen model) then this would be difficult as well. Good luck! RE: First Ever Refund On Amazon - mothered - 07-18-2020 (07-18-2020, 10:20 AM)thrw7878 Wrote: There is the possibility to say that the actual CPU was not in its cradle. Even If the CPU Is visible, If photos are not taken at any point during dispatch, transit and at the delivery point, there'd be no way to determine/verify that It was enclosed. RE: First Ever Refund On Amazon - Joeburd - 07-18-2020 Alright guys thanks for the help, I think im defininitely going to go with DNA now because of the advice. It's arriving tomorrow so I'll keep you guys updated! Hm, I have a couple questions about package weight: 1. Whats the max weight that wont register on consignment? (I know airpods are perfect for empty box ) 2. Does it really matter if your weight registers, even if your item is 10 pounds, as long as an investigation hasnt started, you should be fine right? I mean, there would be better methods if your item weighed 10 pounds but im just wondering if it's really such a huge factor unless an investigation was started. That being said you are correct in thinking that if Amazon UK doesn't start a carrier investigation and they offer you replacement or refund on the spot, the weight would not matter. This works well with the Bot chat system that is in place in the UK and US stores (again I have only had personal experience with the UK version though I have heard the results are very similar in the US as well). I am not sure what the minimum weight on their scales is. Keep us posted. |
