How To Force Host on Call of Duty - Demoz - 04-15-2013 How to Force Host
By Demoz What is Forcing Host? Forcing host is simply forcing yourself to be the host of a match, giving you the best/uninterrupted connection. What is Host? Call of Duty is a game that runs off of P2P hosting. Simply, one person hosts a match and all the other players connect to said match by connecting through the host. Call of Duty chooses the host based on many factors such as, connection speed, location and NAT type. Why Force Host? Being the host of the lobby is comparable to being on a LAN, system link connection. There is no time between shots fired and hits. This happens as there is no delay between the data sent (the shot) and the data received (the hit). While, when you are not host, every time you shoot, it sends a packet of data to the host, it then must send you a packet back saying that you did/did not hit someone. It also sends and receives movement data. If someone is lagging, things like hit-markers when someone is around a corner tend to happen. This happens as the game tries to compensate as it sees that client-side you hit him on, but the players' client it shows that they were around the corner. The server compensates by seeing you still hit him client-side it counts the hit. Basically, being host gets rid of all types of lag, except of course FPS. Requirements: -PC (Macs are NOT compatible with the program I am using.) -A Platform (eg. PC, Xbox, Wii, PS3) Step 1: Download NetTools 5 Step 2: Install Step 3: Open and Navigate to 'Start > Network Tools > UDP Flooder' (You will have to scroll down a bit) Spoiler: Step 4: Replace Line that says, '127.0.0.1' with '27.27.27.27' Spoiler:![]() Step 5: Where it says 'Data', Paste the word 'Data' for about 30 seconds, and turn the Speed slider all the way up. Spoiler:![]() Step 6: Go into Call of Duty, press Start Matchmaking, then go back to Net Tools and click 'Start'. Step 7: Wait until it puts you in your own lobby, then click Stop. (If it doesn't put you in your own lobby, add more Data's on NetTools.) Step 8: Have fun being Host and dominating every game. When the game is about to start, it will say 'Migrating Host' as long as it just says 'Migrating Host' and doesn't start counting, you will be host that game. You must watch for this before every game to make sure you are host. If you get done with a game after being host, a quick way to know if you are host for the next game is checking the scores. If all the scores are still there from last game and everyone's' score isn't 0, then you are still host. Thanks for reading and I hoped this helped. Comments Appreciated! This took me a long time to make. ~Demoz RE: How To Force Host on Call of Duty - ViN - 04-15-2013 Nice tutorial you've made here.
