Question about internation FTIDing and different couriers. - Checkpoint - 06-05-2020

I'm trying to FTID a company in my country, but I wanted to use a FTID service in another website. The guy ships the parcel from a different country from mine.
So basically what I noticed is that the package was taken by DHL in the country of the guy who I paid to do the service, and then DHL handed the package to a different courier in my country that will complete the shipment. The aim of course is to get the package on a wrong address. The excuse would be that I had to do a business trip and I had to return the item from there.

What I'm afraid of is: what if this change of couriers will replace the shipping label? Supposedly the DHL label is photoshopped to display a wrong address. What if the new courier generates a new shipping label and applies it to the package? Since it will be generated from the system, it will have the real address, the company will receive an empty parcel, and I will be fucked.

Thoughts?

Well thought out. Really good quality to be precautious and really think about the SE before going at it.
I personally don't have any info to give, but I'm curious what others have to say.

Why not just FTID yourself, or find a service within your country?
Do you know for sure that the package is handed off to another courier?

Also, it's possible even if it's handed to the company directly, without any reference numbers and the like, that they won't be able to link it to your order. I would assume if a new label is generated, it would only get shipping data and not reference #'s and the like. This is just speculation though.

They will with one of their own, the moment It reaches their depot and dispatched thereafter.

You're complicating the SE which Is certainly not good practice, thus Increases the likelihood of failure. Simply FTID It directly from sender to company.

Sadly I already did everything. I thought about that because I see in the tracking that the couriers have changed. I think on monday or tuesday the tracking will hit 100%.
I didn't do everything myself because I actually wasn't exactly sure how to di it, so I figured I could leave it to a service.

My fault for not having thought about that earlier. I thought that the courier would have been the same even for international shippings, since DHL is in my country too.

There are no services in my country.

I hope they throw away the package without investigating, or the label stays the same.

EDIT: the tracking of the second courier has updated, it literally says "transport document has been printed". They definitely changed the label.

Fuck.

Hence my previous post:

For future reference, every consignment dispatched by a given carrier, will have their very own label generated against their manifest. This Is pretty much stating the obvious.

Ahh. tragic.
But even if the label has changed for another courier, it's possible that they may have copied the information from printed text, or that the reference numbers and the like have are not stored within the various barcodes. I really can't say as I don't know much about how the different couriers operate, but you have the cards you have. When the package reaches the carrier's depot, they will generate their own dedicated label which will Include (but not limited to) weights & dimensions, consignment note number(s), delivery window and (In this case) the same tracking number.

Not all Information Is displayed on the label Itself- some details are used for Internal purposes to process the cost of the freight.

Update: the tracking shows 100%. I contacted the company and they said that they didn't receive anything yet, but I sent them the tracking which shows correctly delivered instead, and said I'm concerned.

They said they will check with the warehouse and let me know.

If they didn't change labels, all good I guess, they'll never find it.

If they did though, the warehouse might still have the package around, with no item inside. But if they threw it away because it looked useless, I'm good.

Let's see.

I feel like they would have scanned the package upon receipt. The fact they didn't makes me hope that they just discarded it.
Hoping for the best!

Point is, I spoke with an indian girl who just had access to stuff through a computer. It simply said "the item hasn't arrived", because you actually have to put an identifying label on the package, so that they can assign the item to your order.
Of course the package has no special identifying label, this means that the girl would have said "the item hasn't arrived" even if the warehouse had received, registered and stored the package.

So yeah, I fear that doing a simple check with the warehouse through tracking, they will say "oh yeah, that package, it was empty" boom, fail.

Oh well, after a number of succesful refunds, one was bound to fail. I didn't think everything in advance sadly. I think the lesson here is clear.
