Not at all.

AirPods have a combined weight (charging case & headphones) of around 55 grams, with a high success rate when using the missing Item method.

Around 120 grams.

That's provided the company cross-checks the consignment with the carrier's manifest.

Ii depends on the company, the cost of the item, how many refunds do you have on your account...I've personally SE'd an item weighted more than 3kg using the Missing item

The reps must've been half asleep when processing the claim.

What was the company and Item?

It was back in the good days, when Amz reps couldn't care less about refunds. It was funny, because i had 2 items ordered in the box, one of them was around 3kg, the other was maybe 0.5kg. I just wanted to see what will happen if i say the heavier item was missing...well the answer was "Do you prefer Refund of Replacement"

P.S it was a cheap item not more than 100EUR

It doesn't get much easier than that.

I'd assume (back then) that the low value Item wasn't worthy of wasting their time, money and resources by opening an Investigation.

Unless something is written on the T&S of the company you SE, like:
"Be sure to not accept package that seems light/empty..."

Is the empty box a carrier-based method? If the company use CCTV cameras is this method flaw?

No.

The DNA Is, due to the fact that It's solely carrier-related when claiming the package was missing.

If you claim that the "Item" was missing and not the entire box, then It's fine.

CCTV cameras will obviously not detect what's Inside the box when It's picked, packed and dispatched.

Sorry, I'm not a English Native, so sometime I might misread or miscomprehend.

With "item" you mean that the package did arrive, the box did arrive but the final item i.e. the earphones were missing, right?

Correct.

The box was received without the Item enclosed.
