OfferUp Tricks and Policy Advantage - Bruce_Boy - 05-09-2020

Hey guys I have a question but this time about OfferUp. I've noticed a lot of people selling expensive stuff for $500 from really dumb fake accs. They only provide something like "answer email only". I know about 500 dollar sell limit but I have a little story about a purchase I did. So i bought a video card for $350. The seller took ages to label the item i bought as "shipped". He waited 3 days after the 7 day refund policy. So basically the system said he didn't shipped so I got refunded. 2 weeks later I get the video card. I get no reply from the seller. The video card was broken. It was a miner card and I couldn't get it to work at all. My question is that is he taking advantage of something here where I get a refund and he gets a refund (we both get money from the company offerup protection system)

If he's taking advantage of something, I don't see how he'd benefit from sending you a nonfunctional video card.

That Is, he's getting a refund so there's nothing to gain by shipping the card.
