SE Microsoft Advanced Replacement Laptop - Therealdeal1918 - 05-06-2020

I am preparing to attempt a very expensive SE, probably my biggest attempt, so I want to do as much research as possible before I do it. I wanted to post here, both to ask for feedback and advice, and also to share my experience and if I have any success, so you all can benefit as well.

Here is the situation. I have an out of warranty Microsoft Surface Book from 2017. I contacted the service rep because I wanted to pay $599 for them to basically replace my laptop. My laptop is valued over 2k, still at this time, it's a beast of a laptop. I send them in my old laptop, they send me a new one. Anyway, I believe I can persuade the service rep to grant me an Advanced Replacement, where they ship the laptop first, and then I ship back my old laptop. They require a cc on the account so if anything goes wrong, they will charge me the full cost of the new, replacement laptop.

Here is what I am thinking:

1) DNA method. Given the situation with the virus, I know UPS is not doing signatures. I have them send the new laptop to my real home address, with all my real information, and I simple claim that it did not arrive. This may work with some persistence, especially if they do not, in fact, require signatures and are willing to leave a laptop on my porch.

2) Use a fake cc, with fake information everything, have them ship it to a drop address, and then pick it up, and have them try to sort out the fake cc. I do not like this plan as much as I am not entirely sure I can get a good fake cc and even if i did, this involves more legal risk than I might be willing to take.  But that said, it might be possible for me to get a fake cc, but even if I do, they already have my information from the first service request to get my laptop fixed, so I am worried about a potential paper trial.

I'd love to hear what you all think, and any pieces of advice. I've never done any SE, beyond Amazon, so if you know anything about Microsoft's SE and especially what goes on with an Advanced Replacement, I want to hear it.

Thanks

Maybe if all the surface book models from every year look physically identical, you could find an S/N for a newer model in warranty and photoshop the s/n on yours for pics if they ask, and say you lost the POP if they ask. You could get a free replacement with a newer model, and the tech people don't look too closely at the PC, so if you convince the rep for AR, with a burner privacy CC, you could just do it.

2) Use a fake cc, with fake information everything, have them ship it to a drop address

you cant possibly use a fake cc to go through payment and get the product shipped, solely because its a FAKE CC

Any alternatives then? Are VCCs still used? I believe they charge the entire amount as a hold, so the balance would have to be high.

Perfect DNA material, they've basically SEd themselves. Use this to your advantage.

Opting for this ^ will over-complicate the SE, which Is not good practice.

Use the first method.

Yeah, I agree it is best not to over-complicated SE. Some of my best SE's have been just downright stupid, just a stubborn insistence that I did not receive package X, refusing to budge.

But I am only guessing that they do not require signature. That is something the UPS guy told me when we was dropping off some wine for a neighbor. If they do require signature, then this is a whole different ball game.

I am having trouble with them granting Advanced Replacement status because my product is out of warranty. I know it is a possible, but not all companies are built like Amazon, where they are nice as hell and responsive. Microsoft customer service, so far, has sucked ass.

Will continue updates.
