Asking the driver to deliver a parcel to another location in person - SUPlVBPMa - 05-05-2020

Would I be able to ask for a refund on DNA grounds if I was to tell a driver to deliver it somewhere else in person (if I notice that he will be asking for a signature - if not I'd just take the item and claim it DNA) and then collecting it from there? This other place is a private condominium with a reception that can collect these parcels and which I have access to (this place has the same address as my house, so there are constant issues with parcels being delivered to the wrong place within this address, and I could tell the driver this without raising suspicion).

I've had my parcels delivered to that place before (unintentionally - it was a genuine mistake made by the delivery company) and every time that happens I've received a refund almost immediately and collected the item.

If that's the case and provided the driver Is willing to deliver to the other location, then you've answered your own question.

Granted, this has only ever really happened with low value items (the highest being $150 or so). Do you reckon it would work just as well with something of a higher value?

I believe It's a question of whether the driver will In fact deliver to the requested location, rather than the value of the Item.

What Is the Item's value?

This item in particular would be around $3000.

I've also never tried telling the drivers to deliver it to that place, every time that has happened they delivered it there themselves without my instruction.

So your concern as per below will be taken care of, correct?

It should be fine. But what would be better anyway? Letting them purposely deliver it to the wrong address or receiving it myself without a signature? And even then, since it's quite a pricey item, would it not be better to just go with the Fake TID method for this?
