JBL Boombox SE (rma) - bbBrandon - 04-07-2020

I tried se'ing JBL for the first time, and they started an RMA. They want me to send back the JBL Boombox (the defective product) and then after they receive it, they will send me back a new JBL Boombox. The thing is, I don't even have a JBL Boombox. I made a fake pop and stuff and it went through, they just want the defective product back. How would I get passed this? I've never had to do an RMA before.

What did your SE Involve to warrant the return of the Item?

Also, what's Its weight and dimensions?

I basically told them that the bluetooth on the speaker did not work AT ALL and I tried connecting it to multiple devices and it still didn't work, even after resetting the devices. I said the same thing to UE (another bluetooth speaker brand) and they never asked for me to return the product.

Also, dimensions of the speaker (in inches) are 10.01 x 19.48 x 7.69 and the weight is 11.57 (in lbs).

It's too big and heavy to box them.

Did you tell them that you still have the Item?

can try telling them that (1)''some juice came out of the battery" maybe? so you can't send it due to hazard
(2)maybe invoke corona novel?

Yes I did, they gave me troubleshooting steps and I told them that I tried it and it didn't work. Then they sent me a warranty form to fill out, and once i sent them the form, the responded with steps for an RMA.

Not sure if that would work cause it would look suspicious if i added another problem onto the speaker. But yes, i was thinking of saying something about the coronavirus, such as not feeling comfortable shipping out the product due to coronavirus and that I am not able to afford the return shipping costs, something along those lines. (and yes, they said i have to pay for the return shipping price)

Stating the obvious, you can say that you've disposed of It due to not having the need to keep a nonfunctional Item.

Your SE Is 50% complete, so It's now a matter of SEing the rep to convince him/her that you cannot return the Item due to the above reason.

To make It seem legit and Increase the chance of a successful outcome, be sure to comply with every other request.

So I got an email this morning and they said:

Hello (name),

Unfortunately, to warranty your device, we would absolutely need the unit back.

Is there anything else I can do to get around this?
