Nintendo Switch? - Oni - 04-02-2020

Due to Covid-19, people have been reselling/scalping Switches lately. Best Buy and Amazon are sold out of many of the models. Got lucky and managed a Lite from Target, along with Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem: Warriors. May get the new Animal Crossing, though I feel a bit old for it. Was curious what games people have or would recommend.

Funny Ebay Listing:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-Switch-Lite-Gray-New-In-Box-VIRUS-FREE-See-Description/143398007616

Spoiler:
Are you stuck at home?

Can’t go outside?

What are you going to do with all that free time?

I’ll tell you what you’re going to do.

Not go outside, that’s for 100% sure if you want to live.

This Switch Lite has not come into contact with anyone but myself, and has been contained in a sealed box INSIDE ANOTHER BOX since before the outbreak even occurred.

Imagine all the fun you could be having NOT going outside.

What else could you be doing with your infinite amount of free time?

Buying this Switch Lite. That’s what.

There’s no guarantee we’ll be able to leave the house in the next month... or two... maybe longer.

But for now, you seriously need to consider the fact that you haven’t played Animal Crossing for Switch. Or Smash Bros.

SMASH BROS.

If there’s ONE reason to buy a Switch without question, it’s THAT game.

Have you ever had the satisfaction of obliterating a small child in a competitive fighting game? How about a kid with motor-skills that rival that of a dead fish? Fish can’t even play video games when they’re alive.

If there’s anything to boost your confidence in this time of uncertainty, this could quite possibly be your ticket.

Think about it.

You could be a god.

Seriously.

You could be hunkered down with a hot chocolate making rounds and scooping up some SWEET Scooby Snacks. And by Scooby Snacks I mean coins. Cause that’s what Smash Bros has to offer since they can’t pay you in real money. Unless you enter tournaments. Which is kinda the whole point I’m trying to make here.

Let’s face it.

You could spend this time “Sheltered In Place” like a chicken who’s head hath been previously struck from it’s poor little chicken shoulders, or you could be playing Smash Bros on a Nintendo Switch that’s GUARANTEED not to give you a horrible deadly virus.

I rest my case.

Condition is New. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.

I in no way accept responsibility for anyone contracting any illness or virus whatsoever.

This item is in fact sealed, and in another container that has been sealed since December 2019.

Should any illness befall anyone, regardless of coming into contact with this package (or not) or its contents, before or after opening it, I take no responsibility whatsoever.

Seriously though.

Wash your hands after opening any packages.

It’s just a good idea if you’ve touched anything that’s come in from the outside.

Stay safe everyone.

That ebay listing is pure gold.

I don't think there's any issue getting Animal Crossing, since it's a nostalgia thing anyway. People still play Pokemon, what's the difference?

Would love to know what other releases there are for it.

I do think age becomes less of a question when it comes to nostalgia. I plan to get Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and Animal Crossing. All of which are part of ~20 year old series.

RE: Nintendo Switch? - Parliament - 04-03-2020

Luckily I already bought the Grey Switch Lite back in October, absolutely love it. I'd highly suggest Zelda Breath of the Wild; the game is beautiful and you obviously don't need to have to played any of the other games to understand it. I love Pokemon and have played it since I was a little kid but honestly, the Switch game isn't worth it. Story line is utter trash, few new pokemon, no global dex etc, just google it. Maybe it's me just trying to push my disappointment in the developers of under-preforming but from my experience, I didn't enjoy it and I've spent thousands of hours playing pokemon games. Animal Crossing is also another banger, haven't got around to buying it but from what I've heard from friends, it sounds/looks great. Age really doesn't matter in the game, it's pushed as a "kids" game but really you do whatever you want to do, while obviously paying off your debt to Tom Nook by taking out your fourth mortgage in the game.

This was the main reason I didn't buy it yet. Had played all the games and transferred Pokemon, but many aren't in the Sword/Shield Pokedex.

RE: Nintendo Switch? - Skryptec - 04-05-2020

Nintendo Switch has been sold out here as well. So I've spent the past week checking a few retailers every few hours. Luckily I managed to get a grey one for 329 EUR which will be delivered this Friday hopefully.

I'd recommend Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.

I got lucky and found a Switch Lite (Gray) for $199 USD. People are selling used ones for that much, due to the demand.

Damn, I've seen the original ones (which I have as well) go for like 200 bucks more than the retail price on eBay and stuff. I even went to a couple stores and they all said they don't have any in stock anymore because all the kids wanted one. Everyone wants one now due to COVID-19.

RE: Nintendo Switch? - Oni - 04-05-2020

So far I've ordered:
  • Fire Emblem: Warriors
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons

For sure. I've noticed the Animal Crossing edition of the console and the game itself are being scalped for much more. Most of the price-fuckery is taking place on Amazon/Ebay. If you check alternatives (i.e. Gamestop/Target), things are cheaper/available.
