SE'd Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire - bag02craso - 03-24-2020

Hi,

So Ive just been through the easiest SE so far.
I contacted Garmin through live chat, sent them my serial on the watch i currently already own. They asked me to do a few troubleshooting steps, which "unfortunately" did not work. They then wanted me to use a prepaid shippinglabel from their side to send it in to their central. I just sent a box with nothing but air. A few days later i got an email confirming they had received My watch. Less than 48 hours later they sent a confirmation that a new watch has been sent as a replacement. Easy as that, nothing more than 10 minutes total spent on this.
Needless to say, they state that if they cant fix the watch within 48 hours of Receiving it they will replace it. But apparently they didnt even check what the box contained.
Now i just sold it for 435$. Easy.
Ask med anything if you are curious.

Currently celebrating yet another succesful SE! Cool

Evidently, they did not check the return and probably decided to write off the Item as a tax deduction.

As a matter of Interest, what does your watch weigh?

That's a crazy finesse. What's your plan if they say there was nothing in the box and even bill? if you didn't go full opsec with a drop

Around 150g with the wristband as well.

I assume they wont bill me. They directly confirmed that they had my watch received and had it in hand.

Depending on the carrier, It probably would've registered a minimal weight during transit, therefore no suspicion was raised with the consignment when received by Garmin. I'm still at a loss as to why they didn't check the return.

Well done with the SE.

Excuse my ignorance, but surely the package they received will have nothing in it, and it wouldn't be particularly hard for them do feel the lack of the "bump" they expect?

Agree, hence:

I don't know how they Issued a replacement without receiving the defective Item.

Most likely like other automated systems authorizing a return once the label is scanned in by the carrier. A computer realized that your package arrived so they automatically sent out the new one. Hilarious! Great SE.

Pretty poor process from a company's standpoint, but great for the SE'er.

At my work, all packages that're scanned by DHL and FedEx on receipt of delivery, are then Immediately checked by the warehouse to make sure the goods are enclosed. The Item(s) are then placed back In Inventory and a refund/replacement Is Issued thereafter.
