Wrong item sent method: how to increase package weight? - phobetor00 - 12-06-2019 I'm trying this method for the first time, and I have a difference of about 500g between the original item I want to keep and the substitute item(s) I will send back. So my question is: - Should I add 2 different items (sold by the same store I'm refunding from obv.) to add up to the exact weight of the original shipment? - If it's preferable to send back 1 cheap item only, what can I include in the package to increase it's weight by 500g? Thanks for your help! RE: Wrong item sent method: how to increase package weight? - Jax007 - 12-07-2019 if i were you i would go with dry ice and refund it all... That being a 500g difference isnt generally noticed.. Whats the amount of the refund and which site ? Because I've already bought this items although I didn't calculate the weight well :\ Also, if I buy now an alternative item, wouldn't it be suspicious if they checked all client's recent purchases database and saw this was shipped after the item I'm claiming is missing was sent? Is it really problematic to have this 500g difference, and just add in a second item or wrapping material etc? From the company's standpoint, It's extremely unlikely that two Incorrect Items will be picked, packed and dispatched. 500 grams, or half a kilo, Is a significant weight variance. See how you go with extra packing, but It will require quite a lot. Your best option Is to purchase an Item that's close, If not the exact same weight. Ok so back to one of my questions: I can add up 500g of packing material to my package to make up for the exact weight I need. Is it fine to ship it like that, or will they compare the net weight of both items (excluding packaging) and raise a problem based on that weight difference? If they do a thorough check of the packaged contents, they'll Immediately Identify that the extra packaging Is not theirs, and that It's responsible for making up the difference In weight- without the need to evaluate the Items. On the other hand, they may not have the time and manpower to check. Ultimately, It's your call. |
