I believe you're right @mothered. I've also seen this term of a "method" being thrown around. Perhaps sending a fake tracking ID? There's also some eBooks proclaiming that this is a method for amazon

Its being used and abused right now with amazon.fr
I believe they indeed generate a fake tracking id to "return" an item that will never arrive. Anyone knows it works?

I haven't come across this method being used In quite a while- probably for over a year.
Perhaps It's saturated.
