Microsoft PerformanceGuard Terms and Conditions Assistance - Moe Lester - 11-24-2019

I purchased the Microsoft PerformanceGuard plan for a laptop (NOT the Microsoft Surface) after being told that should my laptop be damaged and there were no identical models, I would be able to put credit toward s an upgraded version. However, now that the warranty is almost up, I've been thinking about how I might just fall down the stairs or spill something while carrying my laptop  Wink . However, after looking over what I believe to be the Terms and Conditions for the plan previously mentioned, I didn't really see anything that mentioned a upgrade option asides from a repair, which is something I certainly don't want. Along with that, I've heard of people who've just been able to choose credit towards an upgrade rather than even choosing a repair. If possible, I'd really appreciate fro someone to read through the terms and conditions and tell me what exactly it's saying. (I've read through it multiple times but have many questions about what it really means).

Anyway, here are my most burning questions.
1. What kind of damage would be unfixable and result in me being able to go for the upgrade?
2. Are they going to make me take the identical model instead of being able to opt for an upgrade if they do have one?
3. If I am told to replace with an identical model that is in a warehouse somewhere, is there any way that I could coerce them into giving me a newer model that they have on hand?

Below is the page for PerformanceGuard.

P.S.
I am very new to all of this warranty stuff, so please excuse me for my stupidity.  Wink2

Happy Thanksgiving!

You were filling the trunk of your car with stuff. You sat your laptop bag down but forgot to put it in. You then backed over the laptop with your car. It will be uneconomical to repair.

I actually used to work in tech support of a computer company, and someone called up with this bullshit a couple of weeks after his insurance warranty was due to end. We knew it was bullshit, and he just wanted a new system, but there was nothing we could do, and he got a brand new one.

Thanks! But do you know if the PerformanceGuard plan covers it by any chance?
