How to properly refund a perfume ? - MaximusFappitus - 11-13-2019 Hello, I bought a perfume today, and I plan to refund it. Hence the shop isn't a huge company (less than 200 employees), pulling the empty package method would be risky, since they provide more attention and more time when packing orders than a company like Amazon, I believe. Also, the DNA method is risky aswell, since the mailman always requires a signature when delivering packages. That leaves me with a "faulty product" method . Now i'm wavering between two potential reclamations : one being "Product has arrived broken, and I cut myself with the glass", yet they will probably ask for pictures, and I'll need to photoshop the perfume bottle to appear broken, which isn't quite easy. But, this method has a lower chance of them asking to send the product back. The second method would be simplier, I believe, and would consists in me claiming that the bottle came empty, but with a strong smell of perfume ; they will eventually make their own investigations, but have no proof that the product was tampered in transit. Only flaw is that they will probably ask to return the bottle, so I was wondering to transfert the perfume to another, generic, sprayer. Does anyone has had a successful experience in claming a similar product ? Which method would be the most appropriate ? Thank you in advance ! I would say the perfume broke in the box so you had to dispose it right away as it seemed dangerous even just leaving it lying around among the kids and the dogs you have at home. Ask them in your most humble and kind tone if they'd be able to figure out an explanation on why that might have happen? "How can we sort this out?" A reasonable story and kind words can go a long way. Good luck! Yet, what should I do if they ask for pictures of the broken product ? I was thinking about kicking the package around, and telling then that even though I threw the bottle away, I still have the package as evidence of tampering. Do you think of that as a valid point? Tampering Is Intentionally Interfering with the package In an unauthorized manner, which Is not relevant In this case. The term you should be using, Is "damaged" on receipt of delivery. That Is, damaged packaging= damaged goods. Just remember that every detail mentioned when SEing, no matter how small, can make a difference between success and failure. Thank you for the clarification ; indeed, what I meant to say is making the package looks like it has been damaged during delivery. And eventually tell them that, even though I threw the broken bottle away because of safety hazard, I still have the damaged package as proof of damage. RE: How to properly refund a perfume ? - algb1 - 11-14-2019 Tell us how it goes please I would be interested in doing this, thanks RE: How to properly refund a perfume ? - mothered - 11-15-2019 (11-14-2019, 01:34 PM)MaximusFappitus Wrote:(11-14-2019, 04:14 AM)mothered Wrote:(11-14-2019, 02:02 AM)MaximusFappitus Wrote: I was thinking about kicking the package around, and telling then that even though I threw the bottle away, I still have the package as evidence of tampering. Some can In fact last for over a decade. RE: How to properly refund a perfume ? - pureH - 11-19-2019 you can also empty the perfume and use transparant glue to glue the plastic wrapper back on. Then just return it. Does anyone do this or did I invent something haha. |
