How Do I Protect Myself Selling Online ( paypal ) - trapthot - 11-07-2019 setting up accounts on online marketplaces like ebay is there a way i can protect myself from chargebacks or "product didn't arrive " i'll also be setting up an amazon sellers account RE: How Do I Protect Myself Selling Online ( paypal ) - algb1 - 11-07-2019 Keep detailed logs of everything that you do so you are able to prove anything should it arise. You would be suprised at the number of people who dont log. For example always send tracked packages and always keep the receipts. As well as screenshots of messages on some websites. And only accept payment through the website RE: How Do I Protect Myself Selling Online ( paypal ) - relaxed state - 11-08-2019 @algb1 Broke it down nicely. I'd like to add, always send invoices & potentially show you packing up the Product(s) potentially at the Post Office. That may help plead your case. Always getting a verified PayPal account. RE: How Do I Protect Myself Selling Online ( paypal ) - Defeat - 11-09-2019 Honestly, there's no sure way. PayPal is just not an ideal platform. I was practically scammed and had to file some BS gov form to reverse a chargeback claim. It's happened to me before, but i have a few tactics that seem to put off scammers that i write in the description. Plus, most items over £200 i make sure i send via Special Delivery. If someone wants to scam you they will regardless, PayPal are easy to exploit from personal experience. If someone wants to scam you they will regardless, PayPal are easy to exploit from personal experience. I usually just write "Photos are taken in the Post Office prior to packing for security purposes and the customers peace of mind." Not sure if it's a major deterrent but it would put some people off. Also, if you are selling high value item(s) then i would avoid using 1st or 2nd Class signed for. Not only are you insured up to about £50 i think? But i have recently had it where the item was delivered but no signature was taken. Luckily i had a decent buyer, but if that wasn't the case then the buyer can just say the item wasn't received and there's absolutely nothing you can do. |
