How fucked am I? - buffsenpai - 11-02-2019

Did a $2000+ PP dispute refund where I had to box a random package as return. I had no drop so it was on my real address.
It's a big USA computer company but they had me ship the return to Asia.

Had it been a lower value item they wouldn't go after me but I presume they're gonna take action.

Have you ever done something similar and what's gonna happen next/how fucked am I?

I admit the weak opsec was my mistake.

What Indication do you have that they'll take the matter further?

If they sent me a refund and opened the package only to find some random item inside, won't they open an investigation and take action since it's a high value item?

I don't think it's likely to give you the refund, before they open the package. As you said it's a high value item.

Is the random package a stock Item that's part of the company's Inventory?

If not, then you've made an error In judgement In trying to return something that's completely Irrelevant.

I have personally boxed companies similar to argos for values higher than this one . As long as you do things right with paypal you have nothing to worry about

Precisely.

The method must also be flawless. When two parties are Involved, It's of equal Importance to address each one accordingly.

I agree. As long as the right process looks like it took place on PayPal, you're probably fine. If the company takes legal action though, you're fucked. Paypal will 100% then side with them.

The item is completely unrelated.
I did it through a person that's very well known and had years of experience.

The box was handmade, ugly with all sides connected with shipping tape. It could look like somebody opened it anytime.

The concept of boxing, Is sending the original box with nothing Inside. As such, when they receive It, It gives the Impression that the Item was stolen In transit.

How do you explain sending an ugly, handmade box that's completely unrelated to both their request and the Item In question? During transit, no one will go through the trouble of putting together a handmade box, and replacing the original. They'd just simply take the "Item".
