Texas Instruments SE - nsfalpha - 10-29-2019

Has anyone ever SE’d a device from Texas Instruments? How would I go about it if I was to try? The warranty of the calculator that I want to SE requires that I mail the calculator back to them before they can send a replacement. Is there any possible way I can get a calculator from TI or 3rd party carriers? Any help is much appreciated.

TI Device Warranty
Warranty Performance: During the above one (1) year warranty period, your defective product will be replaced with a reconditioned model of an equivalent quality when the product is returned, postage prepaid, to Texas Instruments Service Facility. The warranty of the replacement unit will continue for the warranty of the original unit or six (6) months, whichever is longer. Other than the postage requirement, no charge will be made for such repair and/ or replacement. TI strongly recommends that you insure the product for value prior to mailing.

The product dimensions list 7.5 x 3.4 x 0.6 inches. The item weight is 12 ounces and the shipping weight is 12.8 ounces. It’s also listed on third parties such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. Even surprisingly offered by Wish, which is probably easiest of all I would assume.

The Item Is small enough to box, yet at 340 grams, a little too heavy to send the package In It's raw state. You'd need to make up the weight with (for example) extra packaging.

This Is on the grounds that they cross-check the consignment with the carrier.

Do you have any suggestions on what I should do then? Advice or anything at all? I really appreciate the feedback as I’m still trying to learn about SE. If I was to box, would I use dry ice or what inside the box? Would they check the box before they send the warranty? Sorry I know it’s quite a bit of questions but just really want to learn and test my options. What about purchasing the item from amazon or wish and stating that it DNA?

No Issue whatsoever with your concerns, feel free to ask for assistance as needed.

Given dry Ice sublimates (and does not melt), they'll see the package arrived empty with no signs of Inconsistencies, therefore boxing them In this manner will work. The DNA Is carrier-based, hence considered a universal method, so It can certainly be used. The things to look out for, Is whether a signature Is required on delivery and whether any photos (by the carrier) are taken at the premises/drop off point.

I'd recommend getting one used. A lot of people don't need them when they finish university.

You do have a point but some used ones are still around the price range as new ones so I think new ones might be a better option for me in this case.

Do you think Wish or Amazon would be easier to use the DNA method? The calculator on Wish are usually around 100+, would this prove a problem? It is also sold by Verified Sellers.

If your method Is formulated and executed accordingly and effectively, the company Is Immaterial.

That aside, they're both much of a muchness but If I had to choose, I'd go with the obvious- Amazon.
