Logitech Headset Advice Needed - AreFeetShoes - 09-16-2019

Hi,

I'm trying to SE a headset from Logitech, I managed to get a valid serial number from the internet and instead of email I phoned their customer support. I said that the headset has died and has no sign of life etc and they asked that I provide the serial number from inside the headset rather than the box, I said that the headset would not open and maybe this was linked to the failure which they accepted. Eventually they asked where I purchased the headset and I said Currys (a computer shop in the UK) and they said that Currys is one of their authorized resellers and that I should take the faulty device to them and they will exchange it for me. I then explained that I have already been to Currys and that because I am over a 14 day return period they directed me directly to Logitech. The lady on the phone gave me a ticket number and said to go back and quote the ticket number and they will replace it there in person.

Am I fucked by saying Currys? Maybe I should have said Amazon instead, I plan on phoning back tomorrow and explaining that Currys once again directed me back to Logitech and that I'm upset with being messed around but I highly doubt they will buy it. Should I just look for another serial and say I bought it from elsewhere?

They will buy it, don't worry. I did the same exact thing as you; said it was a gift from a family member which they kept ignoring for some reason so I said I took it to the store and the manager AND employees both directed me back to Logitech. They simply replied "That is fine, sorry for the inconvenience -- Logitech will hold up it's warranty for you."

Seems like a minor mess up, continue -- stick to your story and say that.

Thanks I'll give it another go tomorrow and report back. Worst case scenario I'll just buy the real item from Amazon and then return my headset in the box, the only issue is that there's a 140g difference in weight.

The variance Is a little too much.

Try for something In the 40-60 gram range.

Thanks for the advice, I'm trying to think of anything I could add to the package to make up the weight that isn't totally ridiculous and would make sense.

I'm still certain Logitech will stand firm on this one, I'm gonna say I went there, tried to return, spoke to a manager (make up literally any name) and he advised me as a relative bought it with cash and I don't have a receipt etc they can't verify it came from there and it's Logitechs responsibility. The issue I think I will face is that with a real warranty claim Currys will just swap it then and there with no questions, I wouldn't require a receipt or anything just the faulty product, and then Logitech reimburse them behind the scenes. I don't think there's a way around that one.

What's contained In the original packaging?

Probably the headset, receiver and various cards such as product information and warranty stuff.

Not a whole lot of progress today, I phoned again and this time connected with somebody quite rude. We walked through all the steps again of me trying to get the serial number from inside the headset and failing, she then told me the one from the box is not acceptable, I explained that her colleague yesterday said it was fine and she just ignored me. I explained that I'm just being pinged around from their support and the retailer and that I have been there twice, spoken to the manager but because it was a gift and I do not have a receipt they could not confirm it was from there. She was very sceptical about this and started pushing asking why I didn't have a receipt, or a real serial number. She then said the case will be escalated to her supervisor and I may need to provide images or a video and to await an email.

Any tips on this for when it comes? I've seen the corrupted image method but I think they'll want an actual valid image this time. What if they want the box with the serial number?

Try not to overthink It.

They've yet to request exactly what they require, so just wait for their reply and we'll take It from there.

Unless you can find a video, you've lost here.

Get a new S/N, new account and try again. Hopefully you get a better rep, my 2nd rep just gave me a replacement
