Encrypted messaging at risk? - cr4ck3r - 08-26-2019

I came across this article regarding Telegram being hacked.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/zakdoffman/2019/08/25/chinese-agencies-crack-telegram-a-timely-warning-for-end-to-end-encryption/?fbclid=IwAR0C8c4iT3YAsdiey4qgaoh0FOCtk8sUu-35wRNSxyenB07-026MyKfQgro

Is it still safe to use encrypted mobile messaging these days or should we dive deep and resort to computer based applications only?

I wouldn't say encryption is in danger. Encryption is secure until there's a vulnerability in the application it's in, or the algorithm its self. As long as the algorithm has been proven to be secure, like AES, it would take a new type of attack. Especially with modern algorithms. But aside fron that, Hong Kong is hell. And no other governments are supporting them.

Encryption Is extremely secure and very difficult (If not Impossible) to crack.

The Issue here, Is the "vulnerability" In the design and/or application. Anything that's vulnerable Is exploitable.

I see, I guess I worded it wrongly, although given with the attack against privacy and freedom, do you guys think that these application will survive?
