DNA - Asking for letter and ID - NoodlePoodle - 08-16-2019
Hi
If they ask for a letter confirming you didn't receive the parcel, and ID for investigation purposes with the courier that has proof of signed delivery, is this still do-able?

Quote:If they ask for a letter
It depends on the type of letter they're requesting.
Self-written, sworn statement, affidavit, statutory declaration- all are dealt with differently.

This is the email:
"Dear Customer,
Thank you for your message.
I would like to inform you that the courier has provided proof of delivery with recipients signature and declared it delivered.
Attached please find the POD for your reference.
However if you have not received the item as such the courier requires the following documents to proceed with the investigation.
1: A copy of your ID proof
2: A dated letter with the message that you have not received the package, signed by yourself.
Please keep the attachment size below 1MB and send the documents before 22nd August.
I hope that we can receive them from you soon."
What would you interpret that as? Thanks guys

Judging by their request, It's only a handwritten letter.
If this Is solely the case, It's not legally-binding, so It's fine to sign It.

Great, I'll show my drivers license and a scan of the written letter. Thanks for that!
What do you think they will do with it? Verify my signature with the one that signed for the delivery?

Most likely, if you used a fake signature then you are good!

It's simply part of company protocol to move forward with your claim.
They'll cross-check a few details and If they cannot conclude whether you received the package, the SE will work In your favor.

Hi, quick update and some advice required. I sent them my ID and the hand-written letter with my signature which is different from the one that is signed. I sent this 5 days ago and still no reply. Should I wait, or open a Paypal dispute?

Depending on the Influx of claims, It may take longer than expected.
It won't hurt to contact them, with a gentle reminder that you're still waiting on your claim.

Ah okay, I was being a little bit aggressive with my responses reminding them, as I thought as a real customer would be quite upset with no package for 3 weeks. Was it a mistake to be aggressive, or should I be more gentle?
