Receipt Template Question - GtaStar230 - 06-27-2019
I see these all the time on the forum. What are they used for exactly within SE?

Let's say the company you are SEing asks you for proof that you actually purchased the item you are trying to SE. You make a fake receipt and send them that as your POP. Unfortunately, there are many companies that will actually check the validity of the receipt, so you have to be wary about which companies do that, SE will automatically fail once they find out the receipt is fake.

Well think about it like this: if you were to send amazon a receipt, they're going to lookup the order number on the receipt to confirm the validity of the transaction. But, assuming the order number you used was not real, the transaction doesn't exist and they would know you are using a fake receipt.
Example where a fake receipt would come in handy:
You contact Logitech, tell them your mouse isn't working and they'll offer you a replacement if you can provide proof that you actually bought the mouse. You generate a fake amazon receipt with the mouse on it and send them that as your POP and hopefully they don't contact amazon to confirm it's legitimacy. (This is an example, by no means am i saying this would work)
