GPU SE (Success) - saint28 - 05-02-2019 So, I'm a couple of minutes before attempting to pull off my first SE and I just wanted to ask a couple of questions before I do. 1. The item in question is an RTX 2080 which weighs 3.35 pounds and I found a PSU that weighs 3.23 pounds. Is this weight close enough? 2. Is it preferable to get the wrong item directly from amazon or is it okay to get an item fulfilled by amazon? 3. Regarding payment, I saw a lot of people using VCC's and I'm wondering if the Privacy.com is a good company to do that with 4. What's a good time frame to send in the return? Sorry for all the questions, I really want it to go smoothly. Any response helps! RE: Wrong item method questions - Exiled - 05-02-2019 The shipping weight has to be identical. Make sure it's fulfilled by Amazon because returns and refunds from third party sellers can be annoying. Yes because the idea is not to raise any flags before you get your refund or replacement. Just add some dry ice or rice to make up for the weight. Wow, the dry ice is a super good idea. I dunno if any store near me sells it though... Where would I put the rice without it being super weird to have some loose rice in the box? Actually, what if I buy batteries and remove some until it matches the proper weight? RE: Wrong item method questions - saint28 - 05-03-2019 This might be a long shot, but does anyone have an evga rtx 2080 xc box that can tell me how much it weighs. I've looked everywhere but there is no concrete item weight for this gpu. The amazon listing seems wrong or that's how much the actual gpu weighs outside it's box. RE: Wrong item method questions - saint28 - 05-04-2019 I ordered the GPU today, it should be arriving on the 5th, I'll keep you all updated if you're interested. RE: Wrong item method questions - saint28 - 05-06-2019 @Exiled It was raining today, and it got me thinking. Could I say the box was drenched in rain and could I use the "wrong item's" box to send it in? Rather than try to find an item with the same weight and dimensions? The 5th has elapsed (my timezone), so have further developments come to hand? Just ordered the wrong item, I ended up deciding to go with an amazonbasics grill cover that is 90g lighter. (Is that weight gap too great?) It arrives on Tuesday and then I'll go through with the rest of the SE |
