Well I have used a few times when I need little forensics done

It's certainly not the best. If we're going to look at the best free forensics Linux distros out there, SIFT would be the one taking the victory home. Seeing as DEFT doesn't have a lot of Python scripts and other certain commands.
In Forensic purposes, CAINE is almost completely useless compared to SIFT. I could give CAINE the benefit of doubt for imaging, but nothing else.
