Double Checking Myself - Tenney - 03-11-2019

Want to double check a few things (I think I'm over thinking it, but I'd rather be safe than sorry).

1) If doing Wrong Item Received, you use the weight of the item, not the shipping weight.

2) Does the size of the item that you're saying actually came in comparison to the actual box size matter. My item was relatively small when compared to the actual box, but was packed with lots of wrap.

Would appreciate your input whenever you get a second @mothered

Correct. You're SEing the Item, not the packaging.

Shipping weight (gross weight), Is the Item and packaging. Net weight Is the Item alone, which Is what you're concerned with.

As long as the Item fits comfortably In the box, then that's all that matters, regardless of extra wrap. They only added extra wrapping because they sent the correct Item (and It's nature). If a slightly larger Incorrect Item was packed, they'd be minimal wrapping- which still justifies receiving a wrong Item.

Another question for you @mothered

I received an item in the last few days that I have been pondering SEing. My problem that I'm having and why I asked the question above, was because on the website, the item's weight is somewhere around 1.5 lbs. It is a device of some kind inside of a box, which was then shipped inside the actual package. Total though, when I have weighed the item, it weights roughly 2.5 times this on a scale. I'm wondering if the "Proudct weight" shown on the site is the weight of the product itself, rather than the product inside the box?

EDIT: I just checked the delivery page and it states two different weights on the page. One is the "Weight" which is rounded up a little bit, but close to what I have weighed it to myself, and the other is the shipping weight which is virtually the same as the weight. Does this confirm that I'm right in the fact that it weights roughly what I weighed it out to be?

Carriers do tend to round up the weight to the nearest figure, so yes, you're correct with the weight.

When SEing, always go by the weight of the Item. For Instance and this Is just for demonstration purposes:

* The total package (Item enclosed) weighs1.5kg- with 1kg of packaging and 500 grams for the Item.
* You replace a wrong Item also weighing at 500 grams.
* The total package will still weigh 1.5kg (1kg of packaging and the Item at 500 grams).
