DNA Method - Explanation? - titchyyyy - 02-19-2019 Does anybody have an advanced explanation on the DNA method used? Personally I don't go anywhere near this method as every single parcel that arrives at my address always requires a signature and every time I've tried this method, companies pretty much slap me with the 'Somebody at your address has signed for it, here is the tracking / proof - we can't help you further". I've had a good explanation from a great member of this forum but even he is not too sure on the method from start to finish. I understand the basics of this method but when it comes to the signature part, I can't quite wrap my head round it. How on earth do I manage to SE my way out of this one? In my area, the couriers always require a signature. I usually tell the company that I'm SEing that nobody had signed for the parcel and nobody had came to the door, but they basically tell me that the tracking proves that the parcel arrived and it protects them from refunding me at all, case closed, they're not interested in talking to me anymore. Amazon have told me to contact the police and get a report but other companies pretty much shut me off and won't talk to me. Any advice / help is always appreciated so I can further my knowledge. Thanks x RE: DNA Method - Explanation? - prevent - 02-19-2019 If someone signed for it you cannot DNA, if you're looking for a better method say a different item arrived rather then the one you got, ask to ship it back for a refund or replacement, kind of a useless comment on my end but I hope this somewhat helps, you have my discord if you need any of my knowledge to SE RE: DNA Method - Explanation? - 99028 - 02-19-2019 (02-19-2019, 08:56 AM)prevent Wrote: If someone signed for it you cannot DNA, if you're looking for a better method say a different item arrived rather then the one you got, ask to ship it back for a refund or replacement, kind of a useless comment on my end but I hope this somewhat helps, you have my discord if you need any of my knowledge to SE whats your discord if i may ask RE: DNA Method - Explanation? - mothered - 02-19-2019 Quote:Somebody at your address has signed for it The equation Is pretty simple. How can they be absolutely and conclusively certain, that a member of "your household" was the person who signed for It? Just because It was signed at your address, by no means Is It a definitive Indicator that It was done by any of It's occupants. This pertains to the "wrong Item received" method, whereby you claim you've received an Item other than the one ordered. They'll request the return of the wrong Item thereafter. I thought this was a quality forum?I guess unlike other situations/ideas social engineering cant really be spoon-fed with a a definite answer - the person on the end of the phone will be completely different every time and its a skill to take when you can from the conversation about how the other person works and use that to your advantage. DNA is tricky if you do have to sign for it, yet if you know what you are doing in that specific situation you can get away with it. Personally same, I stay away from DNA unless they leave it outside in which case you best believe im getting my money back, its a method that shifts blame to the delivery people in which they can kinda verify reliably, whereas other method of SE Refunding removes all blame from both parties in which makes the claim a lot harder to dispute! I kinda went on a rant, but I hope I made sense - DNA is exactly what it is, the item did not arrive, when the delivery guy has a form of semi evidence its often a case of your word against his, but with good social engineering you don't want to be in this situation - you need to manipulate it into your favour and thats the struggle with DNA. RE: DNA Method - Explanation? - 0Centurion - 07-15-2019 I have claimed DNA on a 800 dollar monitor by signing with a fake name and last name. Called Amazon and said that someone else thats not me signed it as clearly the last name is incorrect. I stressed that I am living alone and in an apartment building and volia , refund. I highly recommend wearing shades/a cover up outfit just incase the delivery guy stops by to investigate further. You can bullshit this saying a friend signed for it etc. As Mothered said, a signature is not conclusive enough for them to make the conclusion that you 100% received the package. |
