I'll definitely put this to good use.

I have around 5 Mega checkers, the majority of which are unstable. Given It's proxyless, stating the obvious, do use a VPN.

Why would I not be able open open this as a checker.? It’s just the basic mega app. I’ve tried downloading twice now. What am I doing wrong?

When you open the archive and launch the "executable file", It will run the tool as per below:
