How does double dipping work? - Biglad465 - 01-23-2019

Ok so I know that double dipping is effectively when you refund the same item twice? But not sure how it works.

E.g. im planning to do my first £30 SE soon enough and I'm using the method of saying they sent an item of similar weight.

If I want to double dip that how would I do it? Surly when I contact one member of staff and get my refund. It would have been logged on my account or if not I have no "wrong item" to send back (unless I buy two of the same one..?).

Is there a limit can. Triple Dip for example or potentially get 6-7 refunds on the same item?

Double dipping is the process of getting the 2 copies of the item in addition to your refund. Here is how the process should look like when carried out correctly.

1. Order the item.

2. SE to get a replacement of the item. You can do broken glass / empty box / DNA / battery leak / safety hazard whenever applicable. Ideally you'd want to use a method where you are not required to send the item back.

3. Once you receive a replacement , refer back to step two and use any of those methods to try a get a refund instead this time. Your most likely going to have to box them at this point and most importantly don't use the same method twice. It is important to ensure with the representative that when you get a return label that upon receipt of item at their facility , you will be issued a refund.

4. Send back the "item". You would have boxed them at this point. When they receive the item you will receive your refund.

This is just an example of how one of my double dips have went for a $729 NVME SSD drive. Keep in mind that there are no hard rules when it comes to double dipping. It is heavily based on account history, the cost of the item and how well you execute the SE. My account was heavily aged with a lot of orders so it worked out in my favor. I would adjust accordingly.

If you require more information , please reach out.

Sound advice and perfectly explained.
