IPad Boxing Amazon UK - Kevo54 - 01-04-2019 I'm currently considering refunding an Ipad Pro 11" or 12" which I will then return, but inside the box replace it with some book or something that weighs the same as the Ipad -I've seen suggestions of using Dry Ice, since it melts by the time it gets to Amazon, and the weight matches up at the post office-. I'll have all the cables and documents in there as I already have a macbook which the same charger anyway. I've read lots of suggestions on here with people saying that you can just sign for it with a signature that is nothing like your name, but what is the likelyhood of that working especially in the UK? I don't wanna say it didn't arrive because when shit isn't delivered in our area its taken to the post office and they scan your ID when you pick it up. My amazon account was made in 2014 and has upwards of 20 orders, some of which were several hundreed pounds ( >$150 )-never refunded-. What's the best method to use for the product which is £900 ( > $1100 ). I know I'm new, there's a first for everything
RE: IPad Boxing Amazon UK - Sareen101 - 01-04-2019 i wouldnt do did not arrive, because i did that on a mac and they said the geo tag shows delivered in area and then asked for police report. What did you do when this happened? Keep it or returned it RE: IPad Boxing Amazon UK - Nutany - 01-04-2019 (01-04-2019, 10:06 PM)Sareen101 Wrote: i wouldnt do did not arrive, because i did that on a mac and they said the geo tag shows delivered in area and then asked for police report. Just file the police report, macs are worth quite a lot, so I'm guessing it's standard procedure. When I lost my phone and had to get the insurance to replace it, I had to report it to the police to get a crime reference number, I simply used ( which the company and a call to 111 suggested ) https://www.reportmyloss.com/uk The only annoying this is that you have to pay, but it avoids the whole business of going to the local police station ( which is scary and intimidating at best ). RE: IPad Boxing Amazon UK - black0ps - 01-06-2019 This is semi-unrelated, but does "boxing" really work? Don't they open the package when it's received? Wouldn't it be extremely easy for them to know that you sent them whatever junk (rocks, book, dry ice, etc) since a return has a return label generated from amazon? I'm new to the SE/refunding world, but it seems very unrealistic. You're talking about wrong item method, which indeed works well. Boxing works well too, but just for lighter items. |
