Firstly, you need to know what "truly" defines social engineering. My thread explains just that.
The majority of online resources are either misleading, or quite Inaccurate so don't solely rely on their Information. Once you've Identified It's purpose, research, preparation and execution (respectively) Is vital for a successful outcome.
