Auto close threads - Defeat - 11-26-2018 I have noticed gravedigging as of recently. Could we have a plugin added to automatically close threads that have not been active for perhaps a month or a few ? This would stop the issue and give @mothered less work RE: Auto close threads - Oni - 11-26-2018 The reason we haven't, is that sometimes a member might have a good reason to reply to a thread (even if 3 months have passed). In many cases, people have added to conversation and brought life to a thread that was once dead. The act of posting in an old thread isn't a problem in and of itself, it's when low-quality content is being posted. All that being said, I may make the warning more attention-grabby (i.e. red text). For example, although there's no reply for 90 days, the link In the thread may be down and the OP Is In fact still active. If a member replies to re-upload the link It's not classed as grave digging. There are no hard and fast rules. Each one Is treated on a case-by-case basis and It's up to the discretion of staff, to determine whether the reply Is considered grave digging. RE: Auto close threads - Defeat - 11-27-2018 Thanks for the explanation guys. Closing this now. |
