First Time SE Amazon UK - mewlingsyringe - 11-06-2018 Hey everyone! I basically ordered an Xbox (sold and fulfilled by Amazon UK) and I am planning on getting it for free. My account is my own, 4 years old with over 250+ orders and no more than 8 returns (clothes and one faulty go pro and all legit returns). Should I just say that I never received the item and ask for a refund or replacement? I don't know if I can double-dip because at one point Amazon messed up and sent two items of my order (10GBP). I did return the excess one. Also, I am in the UK, should I call them or live chat them? I have written a special message during the amazon checkout wishing happy b-day to a fictional friend. What can I include in my story that will make more convincing? Sorry it's my first post, if you want any clarification please ask! Thanks! RE: First Time SE Amazon UK - Pingerz - 11-06-2018 Its a big item so I would suggest saying it never arrived as it would be difficult to box them but still can still be done just would need a large amount of dry ice, so don't sign for it when it arrives just let them leave it at the door. The fictional friend is a good idea adds something to the storey when you contact them. I personally phone them as it's worked in the past for me every time. I've luckily been born with a natural ability to lie so I don't have to think much about it. The key is to just stick to your storey and just treat it as fact and it will go fine. The rep won't be there analysing you they are just somebody wanting to go home. Whether you ask for a refund or replacement is entirely down to you for the big items I've done in the last few months I've gotten the replacements because I think it adds some reputability to your account in some way if someone was to "investigate " my account but that's just me. I've only been doing this for around half a year and I've done over £1300 so there is plenty of more experienced members that can add something I may have missed. Also I mainly just send a similar item back and avoid saying it didn't arrive due to the really low crime rate in my area and everyone knowing each other in my area makes it difficult for me so again I'm not that experienced with the method you are using. But I'm eager to answer any question you may have I've have done a fair amount of research into this. RE: First Time SE Amazon UK - mewlingsyringe - 11-06-2018 Thank you for the response. I do have an old xbox that doesn't work anymore. Should I just return it with the broken xbox inside? Wouldn't they check the content when they receive it? Thanks RE: First Time SE Amazon UK - Pingerz - 11-06-2018 (11-06-2018, 10:49 PM)mewlingsyringe Wrote: Thank you for the response. I would recommend saying that the product never arrived in this case. They do check the products but I'm not sure how well because it has worked for me in the past on everything I've done. I have read from @mothered that if you say its broken they are very unlikely to test the product. If the two xboxs are the same models than it would work otherwise I wouldn't try it. Pretty much everyone knows what an Xbox is and what the models look like as well as the really clear images on the front of the box but then again the Amazon workforce despise their work and the chances of them caring is possibly very low for this reason. Possible issues you can run into is if the parcel is left with a neighbour so maybe you can state a location for it to be left like the back door. After you've called amazon they will put you through to a department that deals with the items that are over £40 they will contact the courier company and ask them for an "investigation". The chances are somebody will come around to ask what happened and you just stick to your guns and say what's only necessary. This is the reason I don't do this method its the same people for me every time in a very small area so its suspicious but even if I did then and now nothing would happen but I just can't be bothered to speak to them every time. By the way, these " investigations "don't happen on items below £40 use that as you will but it's a good idea to buy some small things between SE's lowers suspicion but you are likely good for a while. Hit me up for anything else RE: First Time SE Amazon UK - mewlingsyringe - 11-06-2018 (11-06-2018, 11:26 PM)Blazeley Wrote:(11-06-2018, 10:49 PM)mewlingsyringe Wrote: Thank you for the response. Hey thanks for the answer. I'll talk to them through chat, and every delivery I had with amazon was done by 'Amazon Shipping' (except when I pay 4GBP for before 1PM). This one will be done with Amazon Shipping I reckon. I never have to sign anything, they'll just ring, I go downstairs and they hand me the package. I've never encountered Amazon shipping before I'm guessing its therefore delivered by Amazon personnel ? . If they hand you the package you might run into some troubles they only way to get out of that was if you claimed that you didn't go down to pick it up but that wouldn't work seeing as they called your phone number. My advice would be to have someone else deliver the package if possible such as the royal mail. The never received method (aka "DNA") Is predominantly carrier-based, so It can be used against just about any company. Given there Is not a requirement to sign for the package, the method Is certainly a good option. As opposed to a phone call, the advantage of live chat Is that It's not an Instant response (user's tying speed differ), hence It allows a little extra time to think things through prior to replying. This delivery is done by Amazon Shipping, which has GPS tracking. Will I encounter any difficulties if I go with DNA? It depends how you use your method, and what's Involved when you receive the package. GPS tracking confirms that the package was received at the "address", but not by It's "occupant" so It holds no ground whether "you" accepted the delivery. It could've been left (unsigned) at the front door and someone stole It, or It was signed by a passerby. |
