Huawei Mate 20 Pro - kirk11111 - 11-04-2018

Not going to lie I kind of fancy a Mate 20 Pro and I have a few IMEIs. Has anyone had any recent experience with Huawei? I've heard they send you a jiffy bag with a label and I'm wondering if this will complicate things at all? If I manage to get a label do you think I could just get away with not using the bag and boxing them? Appreciate any input Smile

So @Thom9 is currently in a similar situation. He has received the bag but he plans to contact Huawei and mention that they never even sent the bag, act angry and see what they respond. I'm skeptical of whether they'll just send another bag but at that point you can box them and then go apeshit when they contact you saying your phone didn't arrive. If Huawei are similar to corsair then this should work however it remains to be seen. Hope this helps!

Why don't you box them with the return label/jiffy bag Itself?

The phone Is quite small and weights < 200g

May be possible - I am yet to get my hands on one of the bags yet but that is a fair point. It just depends on how the bag is made because it may have 'measures' which they deem enough to say it can't have been their fault. Then it's just a case of losing your shit with them I guess

I actually spoke to @Thom9 and I think he is leaving it for the minute but he did successfully get the bag. We discussed potentially ignoring the bag and sending it in a box at which point you could say you put the bag inside the box and that it all went missing.

If It Is In fact a jiffy bag, they're usually padded to avoid damage to the Item during transit, with a peel-and-seal closure.

The size does vary (100cm Is the smallest I've come across for your purpose), but It's certainly enough to accommodate the phone with room to spare. On these grounds, boxing by way of the jiffy bag Itself, wouldn't be a problem.

I'll give it a shot then. Waiting on PoP at the moment but I will report back on any progress

Good move.

Provided the jiffy bag Is large enough to accommodate the phone and at least half of It's volume Is unused, there's a very high chance the method will work.

Only thing is - I have never boxed before, how do businesses usually react? Will they contact you saying its missing and that they need to send you a new one or do I need to reach out to them asking on an update? I know it will vary from business to business but just wondering if you have any tips

It's not possible to be conclusive on the actions taken.

They may well Issue a refund/replacement there and then (I've experienced this a few times), or they may open an Investigation (check with the carrier, consignment details etc)- which by no means Is a failed SE. The majority of Investigations have a successful outcome.
