Amazon Refunded Me - Wrong Order - hiimyourdad - 10-17-2018

So i placed an order for 4 items. 3 got despatched together and the final item the next day. Total order was £1300.

Went on chat, said i had only received 2 of the 4 items which was roughly £450. They said they would investigate. Few hours later i received an email for a refund of £700 which was for the item that came on its own!! And then another standard high refund count on orders email came.

I am now trying to get a refund for the remaining 2/3 items but are asking for a police report, is there anyway around this? I do not want to submit a report.

So if you really want to be scum, open a police report. Have Amazon hit you with a refund then close the report stating that Amazon solved your problem. That way both Amazon and the police are off your back. If the police can't find anything they will just see it as another theft however you may need to drop the items in another address in case they do decide to search your home for whatever reason.

In Europe can they search your house without a warrant?

Filing a police report Is just that- to submit a report for administrative purposes.

Where warranted (as with this case), It's simply part of Amazon's protocol to finalize their paperwork. Unless there's sufficient evidence of fraudulent activity, they will not take It under Investigation.

They always "have a judge" that "gave them one" it's typical in Germany atleast, I know some cops that do it too, pretty much standard procedure.
Edit: But since you didn't seem to do anything in this whole thing nothing with drugs etc, you should be good. Even if they come to your door ask for the warrant and the judges / courts number. If they don't have it or "forgot it" you're good. Seems unrealistic that they would search your house for that in EU.

This ^^

You haven't been accused of murder (well, not that I'm aware of). You're simply SEing the balance of the Items at a total of £600. Obtaining a warrant by way of court order, Is time-consuming, costly and consumes police resources. It's hardly worth pursuing for the said amount.

As this is pretty much a thing that happens every day and -assuming- you don't have a tremendous record they won't think anything of it.

Yes, they do experience of high volume of replacement/return claims on a daily basis.

They don't have the manpower to address each one accordingly.

What others said is true. As long as you're not a serial refunder into the thousands each month you should be fine. There's a dollar amount point where it is actually worth the police's time to take action against you.

Edit: And/or organized crime.

@hiimyourdad, over and above everything mentioned, what have you decided on doing?
