SE Lego - karoloydi - 10-04-2018

I (kinda) SEd Lego.
I had a box of expensive Lego that I had half done and then lost interest. I still had a few unopened bags left in the box
I emailed them that I am missing some bags, they gave me a prepaid label to send it back to them and that they will issue me with In Store Credit.

I'm thinking of double dipping
I've seen on Lego website that they have Prepaid physical cards, or e-cards.

If they issue me with a physical card, I'm thinking of using it to buy something and send it to a different name and reship address. Then say the envelop was empty.

If they issue me with e-gift, card I do more or less the same thing. Buy something, send to reship under different name and then say the code was not valid.

What do you think?

What lego products are you trying to SE? You can bypass sending it back, I was able to.

It was an £80 set. I'll try next time to bypass it. What excuse did you use?
What kind of store credit did you get?

Edit: I just emailed to ask what's happening. They said "I can see your package has been delivered. We'll send you your credit tomorrow".
They don't check from what I can see. You can just send them some random box with a few random Lego inside.

Lego have the best customer service out there.

In fairness if parts were missing from the box and they asked to return it then they can't resell it. They probably donate it or use it at one of their stores / parks. So chances they check would be minimal.

I doubt you could do it more than once on the same account, the systems they use to pick the bricks are pretty accurate and they aren't stupid.

I did manage to SE them last year, I got an order and the driver delivered them. He launched them over the fence, I said it went in a bucket of water and hence couldn't give it as a present. They simply replaced it for me and let me keep the "damaged" one.

On a separate note about Lego, if you buy from a physical store and parts are missing the store direct you to Lego. It is how Lego want it and they will replace the parts for you. Maybe someone can think up a good SE using that!?......

Buy a set which has 4 inner bags.
Remove bags 1 + 2,
Contact Lego and say bags 3 + 4 were missing (they ship them to you)
At the same time return the box including the original bags 3 + 4 to the store for a refund as its incomplete.

Might be an issue with weight but maybe worth a try.

Good idea. If you buy it from a shop, you don't have to worry about the weight. Only if you buy online you have to worry.

I recently posted a LEGO SE method on a different forum, will probably post it on here too!
Note: You can SE items to a single address multiple times Tongue

It may well be for the majority, but It depends on the store.

Many years ago, I returned a Lego set (for legit purposes) to a local retailer and they replaced It there and then- no questions asked.

RE: SE Lego - casperandersen - 10-05-2018

RE: SE Lego - AllWrappedUp - 10-05-2018

I would never think of trying to get lego, good luck though

The store should of course refund / replace there and then by law but Lego want them to direct the customer there way. Otherwise Lego will get a load of returned sets which they can't possibly check or resell.
