I think it is more for like SE'ing other company's saying the item is broken and you cant ship it back, they will aks for POP

Claim a defective Item, and generate a receipt against the Item's description.

A very good use for this is self assessment tax returns as you can add on tools, expenditures etc and claim VAT back on items with receipts.

This wouldn't work no matter how you try it. If you try to make a return on Amazon, they'll see it's not in the database. If you contact the seller from their website or anyway outside of Amazon, they'll ask for the order ID or order #, and check the records. I've returned a bunch of things, they never ask for the receipt. Just my 2 cents, don't mean to rain on anyone's parade

The point of an Amazon receipt generator is for proof of purchase on other companies sites, example. I bought astros on amazon, they had a defect, they need proof of purchase so I create an Amazon receipt, they do not cross-check receipts with every company that sells their products. Just fyi.
