You know, I've been asking myself the same thing for quite some time, and all the answers I'd get were either "you can ask your parents/relatives", "you have to work for it", and "OMG I want the same!". One day I woke up realizing "Hey, there are people starving. There are kids who have no idea what it even means to have their own room. And here I am, feeling entitled and thinking the whole world revolves around me". Although you might find one way or another to get a free laptop, it does not mean you will keep getting free stuff for the rest of your life. You will start paying taxes, you will start using a check stub maker, and you will have to work hard for all the things you own or want to have.

Social engineering Is obviously a short-term commitment/Investment, and not a strategy that can be formulated as a retirement plan.

The only way to get money is to save it. I know it's hard to save money when there are so many enjoyable things out there, but I bet it will be worth it. I was never really a great manager of my finances. I constantly spent too much on unuseful things. And considering I was running a company, spending money away was not an option. They made me a payroll software that helped me understand how much I shall pay for salaries and other necessities and how to reduce the amount of money you spend.

Does this method still work? My young one just dropped his school laptop and it's broken now. Can't spend the cash to buy another one, could really use a laptop now for his online school.
