RE: Lenovo SE? - Checkpoint - 03-10-2020 if you send a photo, they are going to request a photo of the actual exploded battery RE: Lenovo SE? - saint28 - 03-10-2020 (03-10-2020, 08:27 AM)mothered Wrote:Yup. He's asking for images of the laptop, the battery, and the serial number. I will say that the corrupted files are pictures of the battery and laptop malfunctioning, those being the most important photos that he's requesting.(03-10-2020, 01:53 AM)neekhavod Wrote: I have a legitimate photo of the person's Lenovo box, it looks like a photo that I could've taken. Do you think I could sneak in a legitimate photo with the corrupted files or just straight corrupted files? Maybe add to the legitimacy of my claim, but I'm not too sure. Then the non-corrupted file will be of the serial number on the Lenovo box that I grabbed from the original owner. I have multiple corrupted photos/pdf's at the ready; two corrupted photos and three corrupted pdf's. But I was thinking, if a single photo wasn't corrupted, would that help my legitimize my case? On the other hand, if I send strictly corrupted photos, it will be cemented that I cannot send any photos and maybe he'll give in and just send the laptop. That will be the only photo that isn't corrupted, if he asks for it again, I will send it corrupted. Maybe to give the impression that it was just a stroke of luck? Okay, I'd still opt for sending every file In a corrupted format. If they're still adamant with their request, then you have a backup plan- sending the aforementioned photo. I would send it and not tell the shipper anything about damage. I need the device to take any further action." Was his response today, I still have my backup of saying that I cannot remove the battery without further hurting the battery. The objective Is to exhaust every possible option at your disposal, with the Intention of (obviously) getting them to Issue a refund/replacement. I tried to remove the battery already and I haven't tried to dissemble the laptop since my initial email but it's clear that it's gotten worse. While I was disassembling the laptop and trying to remove the battery, there were two screws at the bottom of the battery that weren't coming out, no matter how hard I tried. The swelling of the battery probably lodged the screw in weird or morphed the screw socket. I don't want to force it out because I might accidentally puncture the battery and have some sort of accident. I don't think I can ship the laptop without the battery... I will try to ask another carrier if they can ship it without telling them about the damage. " This was the email I've drafted up, it doesn't seem like he's gonna budge on his stance on having the laptop first. If the next email confirms that he won't send out a replacement, I will say that USPS is willing to take it, damaged and all, but they won't provide a tracking number or something.(03-11-2020, 03:45 PM)neekhavod Wrote:(03-10-2020, 08:54 PM)mothered Wrote: Okay, I'd still opt for sending every file In a corrupted format."I cannot open any the attachments. "I was able to visit the FedEx, UPS, and USPS near me again but they recognized me and the laptop and still denied me. I tried going to one further out than the others and everything was going well until they noticed the battery. I never mentioned that it was broken or hazardous but the manager came over and asked why it was like that, I said I don't know so I'm sending it in for repairs. He denied me because something similar happened to him and he didn't want to ship a hazardous item."
